    [Highly rated reviewer]

All games based on a movie are fighting an uphill battle. They have a deadline to meet (to coincide with the movie), cant give away too much of the plot and generally have a bit of a bad reputation in the gaming industry. Quantum of Solace is not great, but its a lot better than most.

As you probably know by now, the game runs on the superb Call of Duty 4 engine which makes the multiplayer a blast to play. With several different game modes, a whole arsenal to purchase as well as gadgets (similar to the 'perks' from COD 4), there is hours of gameplay to be had. The single player, however, does not! Don't get me wrong, the campaign mode is very good but is criminally short and pretty easy even on the harder difficulties. It clocked in at around 5 hours for me, on the '007' difficulty (the hardest on the game). Also, the majority of the campaign is Bond re-telling the story from Casino Royale and not so much of Quantum of Solace. I can see why the developers done this but it kind of leaves huge gaps by the time it jumps back to QoS and doesn't make all that much sense to me (I haven't seen the film yet).

The graphics aren't exactly the best we've seen but not as bad as some are making out. In response to the other reviews on here, they don't exactly push the PS3 to the max but i'd be amazed if you could show me a PS1 game, or even PS2 for that matter, that is as graphically advanced as this.

I have been a gamer my whole life and this game, although not perfect, is not as bad as some of the other reviews on here would have you believe. Fair enough it's no Call of Duty beater but, credit given where credits due, this is one of the best movie to game products in years. Well worth a rent in my opinion.

It was OK but but it doesn't really match to games like COD. Story line was fair but again not excellent. Takes a while to complete and graphics are again OK. Nothing spectacular but worth a play if your into the James Bond games.

ok, this is really rather good. Ok so is more casino royal than quantum, and it completes fairly easily. A spot on balance between cut-scenes and action. Didn't want to have to send it back, as I was just getting into multiplayer matches which work remarkably well (think unreal)

    9/10

    Regards XJ
