You've got to like Shakespeare

I didn't enjoy this film as much as I'd hoped. Certain aspects were wonderful, including the soundtrack which was perfectly suited to the film. However the overacting in many scenes (although i find this in many foreign films) seemed to be an attempt to compensate for the somewhat predictable and at times slow plot. This is probably also due to Shakespeare, but you do expect films to aim at a wider viewing public than the lovers of the work of Shakespeare. Most highly rated films end up among my favourites, RAN however didn't live up to the pattern and left me slightly disappointed.
