R.O.D. The TV - Vol. 3

Intrigue continues to follow the bibliophile heroines who have the power to magically transform paper into objects that can help them save the world from crimes against books and other beloved literary endeavours. This volume features the paper sisters - Maggie, Anita, and Michelle - a kind of anime 'Charlie's Angels' who carry out assignments from the secretive Hong Kong Library, Dokusensha. Each mission involves a mystery where the sisters must pool their efforts in paper manipulation to recover missing books and bring the perpetrator to justice. As with Nene, the author featured in previous volumes who needs the sisters' protection from bombers and gunmen, they too have their share of enemies who would like to see their powers zapped permanently. Each episode contains one entire story from start to finish. As usual, the series inspired by a story by Hideyuki Kurata, uses some cutting edge, mood-enhancing music that rivals and surpasses soundtracks from James Bond flicks. Includes episodes 9-12.

    Approaching half way

As the series approaches half way through the sides become more clearly drawn after a couple of episodes reminding you of the Nenene search

for Agent Readman we are reminded of the dark side of Dokusensure as both the fan service and violence are picked up a notch

After a Christmas special featuring the first meeting of the Paper Sisters the plot starts to pick up in earnest with Jokers sub plot with Dokusensure suddenly impacting much more on the team as they return to Hong Kong.

More so than the others in the series this deserves it's rating with nudity and increased violence. This is definately not the place to start watching the series but for anyone following the series the cliff hanger will ensure you'll want disk 4 in your hands as soon as possible
