Radio- a cuba gooding masterclass
By choonz. from hatfield Herts. , 04 Nov 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
written and acted in a forrest gumpesque kind of way this will not dissapoint. If only for the pure reason that you dont really expect too much before you have actually seen it.
The title and box cover pretty much tell the whole story .
nicely shot with no nasty camera angles, comfortable soundtrack, easy on the eye.Everything is pretty average.
Bar one. Cuba himself, Excellent, as always. He seems never to fail in any role, even if the rest of the castaround him do not inspire.Material such as this has to be handled carefully, and it has, being based on factual people and semi factual events, everything gels into place fairly comfortably.Although american football will never really be an enthralling subject for most europeans. Unfortunately it all results in a film which entertains and warms the heart, but ultimately doesnt make you want to come back to see it again and again. definately one to rent and not to own.
A film for both nan/grandad and auntie Flo to watch when they come round. so a possible recommendation for christmas when they repeat only fools and horses...again.- Was this review helpful to you?

(70)Magical moments
By a customer from Dorset , 20 Dec 2010I really enjoyed this film and especially as it was based on a true story.
It was fascinating to watch the development of the relationship between Cuba and Ed who both acted brilliantly. It just goes to show what can come of a little patience and understanding - a lesson for us all.
Do take a look at this film. There are no way out special effects or blood and guts but just a wonderfully heart-warming human interest story.- Was this review helpful to you?

feelgood charmer
By squareeyed (24 reviews) from Nairn , 23 Sep 2009WOW where was all the fuss and press about this one?!
This was one of those movies that has it all, drama, tenderness, humour, inspiring characters, wonderful acting and directing and real feelgood factor.
A true tribute to all that is good in humanity.
Oscars were deserved by both Ed Harris and Cuba Gooding Jnr,but were not given.
Typically overlooked film sheer brilliance.
Enjoyed by both men and women as the story is involving and relevant.- Was this review helpful to you?

Radio
By Spursgeezer (7 reviews) from Leicester , 06 Jan 2009I really enjoyed this movie, it is a predictable heart warming story but that aside the performances are very good throughout especially from Gooding Junior who for me is so very under rated.A good story line and plenty to keep the viewer interested and plenty of time invested in the characters. This did feel like Coach Carter at times but with a different angle.I would reccomend this movie.- Was this review helpful to you?
