    Utter rubbish

This has got to be the worst film I have ever seen. The whole film is made is made up of a series or one-on-one interviews. The only reason I rented it was because of the big stars in it, Jude Law, Steve Buscemi, Judy Dench, etc. I am bitterly disappointed. I didn't even watch it to the end, and I think I have only ever done that with a film about 2 or 3 times in my whole life.

    14 Talking Heads.

An interesting very small, budget film from director/writer Sally Potter. It may be small budget but it has some very big stars and even the almost unknown are brilliant..

The action takes place in a room somewhere within the environs of an important fashion house where a new fragrance is about to be launched at the finale of the fashion show.

One by one, the people involved enter the room and discuss their work, lives and feelings to a young, unseen boy who is filming them on a cellphone as part of his work experience. Simultaneously, one can hear the raised voices of a crowd of protesters in the street,, who are objecting to the obscene anounts of money earned by spoilt models, designers, and others in the higher echelons of the fashion industry. Things turn nasty.

But it's all really about the acting, which is superb; even Jude Law, whom I have always denigrated as an actor. Judi Dench is amazing as Mona Carvell, a fashion writer and critic; as is Dianne West in the role of house manager; Eddie Izzard does a great cameo as Tiny Diamonds, ruthless entrepreneur; Riz Ahmed plays Vijay the pizza delivery boy, and Adriana Barraz istouchingly real as Anita, the seamstress with no papers.

The whole thing is slightly potty but also mesmerising. I'm tempted to give it 5.

    Talking Heads ?

If you like Alan Bennett you'll like this.

Thought provoking and a bit scary to realise the power of the internet.
