Some incredibly powerful episodes here - particularly the one where our lead is taken into his 'perfect world' of yesterday - and has to summon up the willpower to want to break beyond it.
Yes there are big robots, but herein lies some sublime drama - with fabulous performances from all the cast.
Utter Genius.
So far I've thought this series fluctuates between the brilliant and the average, and while this still isn't that great the animation continues in it's quality vein and the plot gets more mysterious by the episode. The only downer is the fact that I'm Neon Genesis Evangelion at the same time which makes you focus more on the similarities between the two.
