    [Highly rated reviewer]

I went to see this movie with high expectations on what reviewers has been saying. But I am sad to say that I have wasted the price of a cinema ticket, money on refreshments and couple hours of my life. This has totally ruined the Rambo series.I felt I needed subtitles to hear what Sly was saying most of the time.Stallone just looks awful and not the Stallion he used to be.Only watch if you want to waste your time and money.

  • More 'Dumbo' than 'Rambo'?

A cinematic exemplar for anyone unclear of the difference between a high calibre machine gun and low calibre script. More 'Dumbo' than 'Rambo'?

Let's get a couple of things straight...the script is awful... most of the time you can't really understand what Stallone is saying, he just slurs his words in that way he does like he's had one to many before shooting the scene...the plot is predictable, highly predictable...if you just sat and thought about what would actually happen in the fillm then you wouldn't be too far off...lastly, the proposed hero of the movie is a ~80 year old guy who looks like one of those action men you microwaved as a child (you can see he put that growth hormone he was smuggling illegally to good use) but do you know what?...it doesn't matter...

This is Rambo...so you can't understand what he says...it doesn't matter...so the plot is predictable...who cares?...the point of the movie isn't the award-winning script...it's about Rambo running around blowing stuff up whilst attempting to justify his pseudo-genocide...in fact, this film would work equally well if nobody said anything at all but just nodded and made grunting noises to each other...if you want a deep, twisting story then you've come to the wrong place...on the other hand, if you are curious to see what would happen if someone stepped on a landmine whilst being shot by an over-sized sniper rifle then dig yourself in and spread it on...

    P. S. No seriously, what is wrong with his face???

If you're looking for First Blood then that it aint but Sly gives a good account of Mr Rambo and looks amazing for someone in his 80's..

The story certainly isn't original (jungle, rescue, more jungle, bullets, reluctant hero etc) but if you get past that then it a half decent effort with more action and blood than you can shake an Ak-47 at!

    Good effort Sylvester
