to 'the most helpful members reviews' by Nosib kevin, I'm sorry but you know nothing about Indian history & politics. so your basis of judging this film as poor/disappointing is completely wrong.
as for the song, that melodrama has been a part of Indian cinema forever. That is our choice of liking, both the makers and the audiences. There are very few good films that do not include songs and/or melodrama at some point or the other, and none if it involves romance & love. so if you don't like it, don't watch it. for majority of those having watched the film, it is a brilliant film.
