It's hard to comprehend the fascination animators seem to have for rodents. Perhaps it stems from over exposure to Tom and Jerry in formative years. At any rate, first Aardman gave us the underrated Flushed Away; now Pixar strikes back with Ratatouille. Neither title would seem an easy sell - indeed, Disney's marketing department has been moaning to anyone who'll listen about that, since Ratatouille proved the least successful Pixar release yet, box office wise. A nine-minute clip of a new animated movie from Pixar can now be watched online and gives a sneak preview of what fans can expect when the film opens in October. Ratatouille follows the story of a young rat called Remy who longs to become a professional chef and must overcome a number of hurdles to do so. The film is directed by Brad Bird, who previously worked on The Simpsons and both wrote and directed 2004's The Incredibles, a hilarious animated movie about a family with superpowers.... Read more

The Top Gun actor has now revealed Bird has signed up to the project - and he's ecstatic at the choice, because he's having such a good time on set. Cruise tells... Read more
Well, they’ve finally done it. Fifteen years since the studio’s first feature, and on movie number ten, Pixar has gone and made a picture about ordinary people. Not toys, not bugs, not monsters, not fish, not superheroes, not rats, not robots… Just people. And what do you know, the results are every bit as funny, wise, charming and poignant as before. Up is the story of a grumpy old man deeply attached to his home of many decades. When the developers won’t take no for... Read more
A new film from animation studio Pixar has received an early write-up on a movie website which describes it as an "instant classic". The reviewer, calling himself the New Cruelty, wrote on Ain't it Cool News that Ratatouille - a story about a rat who wants to become a chef - is "funny" and the "performances are just right". Ratatouille features a host of stars lending their vocal talents to the animated rodents, such as Arrested Development's Will Arnett and Ian... Read more
