It's hard to comprehend the fascination animators seem to have for rodents. Perhaps it stems from over exposure to Tom and Jerry in formative years. At any rate, first Aardman gave us the underrated Flushed Away; now Pixar strikes back with Ratatouille. Neither title would seem an easy sell - indeed, Disney's marketing department has been moaning to anyone who'll listen about that, since Ratatouille proved the least successful Pixar release yet, box office wise. Pixar debuts Ratatouille clip

A nine-minute clip of a new animated movie from Pixar can now be watched online and gives a sneak preview of what fans can expect when the film opens in October. Ratatouille follows the story of a young rat called Remy who longs to become a professional chef and must overcome a number of hurdles to do so. Tom Cruise has confirmed The Incredibles' director Brad Bird as the man who will helm Mission: Impossible 4 - and he's having "a blast" working with the filmmaker. J.J. Abrams signed up to work with Cruise for the fourth installment in the franchise earlier this year (10), but it was unclear who would be taking on the directing role. A new film from animation studio Pixar has received an early write-up on a movie website which describes it as an "instant classic". The reviewer, calling himself the New Cruelty, wrote on Ain't it Cool News that Ratatouille - a story about a rat who wants to become a chef - is "funny" and the "performances are just right".
