This is the feature that really made people sit up and take notice of Lyne Ramsey. Bleak in terms of the storyline, with even bleakier locations, nevertheless the photography and the way the film was cut is brilliant. Slow at times, meandering, and although just over an hour and a half seemed incredibly long. I felt as if I had watched a three hour film. I wanted more things to happen, but they didn't. But give full credit to Lyne Ramsey, who for some reason, I thought would be a bleak character herself. I was pleasantly surpirsed when she was interviewed re: 'We Have To Talk About Kevin' and was happy and smiling and jolly.
