My Sherona!!!!!By a customer from england , 19 Aug 2005
[Highly rated reviewer]This is my favourite film of all time with an equally wicked old school indie soundtrack.
Its one of those super hip films which doesnt take itself to seriously and looks very cool but not hugely stylised.
Janeane Garofalo is fantastic as Vicki and Winona is as lovable as ever.To me Ethan Hawkes character does ruin it and is what i dislike about it the most.
The ending is prtty predictable but very good all the same. The highlight for me was the gas station part at the start which involved the track My Sherona by the knack.
Ben Stiller got off to a really good start to his directing career with this with a strong script, cast and music it really is a generation x 90s classic and ignore the people who say its overated its anything but.A really good fun comedy thats not got the run of the mill relationship saga like alot of them.Highly recommended!!!

I'm late for a jean-folding seminar. Let's locomote!By becmc (15 reviews) from Wakefield , 18 Jul 2010Forgot how much i love this film, a 90's classic!
Has a great soundtrack and is worth the 4 stars alone for the my sharona dancing scene!
Sure ryder is abit whinny in it but still delivers as does ethan and the rest and i love janeane G in it, vicky is maybe the best character?
still cant believe that ben stiller directed it!
A good film about relationships and life in the early 90's- more than worth a watch.
reality bitesBy bubgirl1984 (62 reviews) from Brighton , 16 Feb 2010this whole film has something diversely perverse and pretentious about it. maybe thats because its your stereotypical early 90's teen rebelion film. I like ryders neurotic tendencies, garrafelo's brush off attitude, early ben stiller who does controlled irrate funny, and ethan hawke whose character you frankly, want to punch in the face. It you liked breakfast club, give this 90's spin a go.
Still my favourite movie of all timeBy CathS (21 reviews) from Ruislip , 11 Feb 2010This film is one that you had to live through, if you saw it now for the first time it wouldn't sem great but when it first came out the soundtrack was KILLER. Winona Ryder was in her movie prime, Ethan Hawke was still hot and Ben Stiller was an up and coming actor and in this particular movie - director!
Rene Zelwegger was even an extra...see if you can spot her!
Great film about love in the 1990's!
Not out of dateBy Goggs (30 reviews) from Edinburgh , 28 Apr 2009A dated movie. Based in the post eighties crash, hopelessness and powerlessness grind down the spirit of the young and naive. Still topical.
reality bitesBy a customer from Swindon , 26 Apr 2008U2's music has never been used to greater affect and film very funny not for the under thirty's.
