ANOTHER DANISH MASTERPIECE

The director of Reconstruction, Christoffer Boe won the prestigious Camera D'or prize in Cannes for this film and it is no surprise why. Reconstruction is an amazingly original story and a dream of a love story with a twist - and yet it is so much more than words can describe. In the role as Axel is Nikolaj Lie Kaas, one of Denmark's best young actors, and in the double role as Simone/Aimee is the magical actress Maria Bonnevie. And although she is Swedish/Norwegian the main language in this film is Danish - and not Swedish as it says in the description here on the page. Keep an eye out for great actor-performances, brilliant and intelligent dialogue and the most incredible camera shots - oh, and keep an eye out for Boe's new film Allegro starring Ulrich Thomsen (Brothers, the Celebration) and supermodel Helena Christensen.

fantastic

after reading some of the other reviews of this film I wasn't sure whether to rent it bit I am so glad I did

Its a beautiful, original, dark, intense film noir, and it is all the better for not following any rules of story telling

even the narrative at the beginning tells you 'it's a film, a construction, but it still hurts'

can't recommend it enough if you like character based, original films
