Having seen the Red Army Choir for the first time in the mid fifties it saddens me to see how far they have fallen since then. There are some good dancers but most appear to be wearing heavy marching boots. The 'musicians' are still enthusiastic but generally play as if they were all soloists, not in unison.

The high point is the Les Dawson look alike singing Gelinka.

Do not let the other review put you off viewing this disc. I found it very entertaining and although there was a lot of dances that were similar it was worth watching. The tenor conerned in the other review did not look a bit like Les Dawson, and the highlight for me was the dances from Borodin's 'Prince Igor'. This was probably the only actual ballet on the disc, but there is no doubt that a lot of ballet dancers would not manage to perform some of the leaps and other energetic movements seen here, If you enjoy non stop entertainment this is for you.
