This is an amazing film
By Chantal (1104 reviews) from London , 15 Apr 2009[Highly rated reviewer]
It's a film of loyalty war spying love deception ambition strategy friendship.
See it on a big screen with 5.1 sounds in blu ray.
I highly recommend it.- Was this review helpful to you?

Beautifully Shot Historical Tale
By Dapprman (51 reviews) from Watford , 11 Feb 2013This is John Woo at his best. The filming is beautiful, the pace ebbs in flow in harmony with the plot. If you dislike the over-the-top acrobatic nature of many Eastern movies and Western copies, then fear not. Sure there is some 'super-human' stuff, but it is limited and doesn't detract from the big battles scenes where they occur. If you're worried about it's length, being close to two and a half hours in length, then don't worry. I was ill watching it, with the concentration span of a goldsfish, but I still managed close to two hours before waning - most TV shows I'm lost in under 5 minutes. Over all probably John Woo's best movie to date- Was this review helpful to you?

Just too much
By tzec (65 reviews) , 09 Jul 2012As an epic, it scores highly all round; but was way too long winded and drawn out. As a TV series it would have been better - and I believe it was originally over 5 hrs long! Just too much.- Was this review helpful to you?
