I am a huge red dwarf fan and I had read reviews and was expecting it not to be so great but being the red dwarf fan that I am I thought I would still enjoy and with that said here is my review

This series/movie was terrable. It said there where 3 episodes but it did not cut out and cut back in during each one so when I set it to play all by the end of the feature I thought it was 1 epsode when it turns out I had watched the hole thing

the (movie) in my eyes was VERY poorly written within the first 30mins you knew the hole story as it's told to you and they then try and stop it from happening.

it's about them coming to earth and finding out they are actors

a toddler could follow this plot as everything is explained (the thing that shocked me the most is that I did not laugh once)

turn on BBC at around 3:30pm and you will see the same kind of childish comedy.

I was very let down by this

IF THIS IS THE FIRST RED DWARF ANYONE HAS SEEN DONT JUDGE RED DWARF BY THIS RUBISH !.

Apart from the green screens reflected onto the actor's faces and the low budget effects trying to look big budget, I believe most have misunderstood Back To Earth. When I missed the episodes, friends would explain how all of it was disappointing as it turns out the characters aren't real and all of what happened in the previous series was 'fictional' and therefore irrelevant. After watching this I pointed out that it isn't so and to watch it till the end. SQUID being the keyword for Red Dwarf fans.

I actually loved the no sitcom audience laughter though I also hear it is the main point of criticism from fans. Give it a chance, I believe it to be one of the best episodes from the franchise.

  • Red Dwarf disappointing

Nostalgic but disappointing. It was a tired, cliche filled attempt at recapturing the original magic, but was ultimately poor. Has firmly put me off watching the new series.

Really should have been filmed in front of a live studio audience. Not Red Dwarf at it's best but well worth a watch.

Enjoyable, not on the level of the original Red Dwarf's but still a few funny gags, felt a bit strained at times and a bit unpractised, it felt like the cast were older and didn't quite get back into character but still worth watching.
