After scoring a hit with the Eddie Murphy-Nick Nolte cop thriller 48 Hours, director Walter Hill returned to the buddy formula with this half-ridiculous, half-invigorating action flick about humourless Russian cop Ivan Danko (Arnold Schwarzenegger). He follows a drug dealer from Moscow to Chicago, where he's matched up with .. Read more

Most definitely not to be confused with the Arnie action film of the same name, this is routine “bras behind bars” stuff, about an American woman in West Germany who is mistakenly arrested as a spy and tossed into a prison packed with sadistic guards and even more unmentionable inmates. The film is most notable for co-starring The Exorcist's Linda Blair and Emmanuelle herself, Sylvia Kristel, both of whom were, after their first big breaks, quickly reduced to making quickie tosh like this.

Fast-moving action movie, but one that offers only a minor variation on the standard plot of ill-assorted partners.

    The Heat is On!

Not a great arnie film. He's not as big as he is in raw deal or Conan. But the sound of the punches alone in the first fist fight should keep you entertained enough for a boys night in.

    A Classic Arnie Film

One of Arnie's old film's but still a classic, this sets the tale as Arnie is a Russian cop who goes to the USA to track down the man that killed his partner back in Russia.

Worth a watch if you are a Arnie Fan.

    Not bad . . .

An average horse from the Schwarzenegger stable. Arnie's hair and accent provide more laughs than James Belushi in this no-brainer action/adventure; in fact, Belushi gets annoying at times, especially with his obsession with the penis. Enjoyable enough. You don't really have to think about what's going on. You can just sit back, relax and watch the action.

    Arnie on form

Ok, for a change I will be brief; I have to rush off to ninja practise in a minute. Excellent Arnie-fare; brings back fond memories; one of the first 'violent' films i ever saw but by today's standards it's pretty tame. You wouldn't rent this expecting a deep storyline or decent acting, but for some late-80s no-brainer action it's pretty good.

Arnie's back with a good, clean and fun film

Although it does not have Arnie's popular 'Commando' style shootouts, this is still a film worth seeing if you are an action fan.

    RED HEAT.

A typical Arnie crime thriller nevertheless completely entertaining. He plays a cop from Russia who joins the Chicago Police Department to recapture a Russian Drug Dealer. Arnie (Commando) is the tough guy whilst James Beluish (K9) gives us plenty of comedy moments. Entertaining and definately worth watching.

    Red Heat - rip-roaring thriller!

Another fantastic Arnie flick! As the one-man army, he takes out the bad guys, leaving them sore, battered and bruised. This time,

Arnie takes the role of a bad-ass Russian police officer, chasing a criminal over to America, and a humorous clash of cultures ensues.

Jim Belushi is great as the wise-cracking partner of Schwarzenegger and it's an interesting representation, watching a film like this in post-Cold War times. It's also a very enjoyable buddy movie, and even though Arnie's not much of an actor, his presence allows you to suspend disbelief and give credence to his character as a Russian cop.

The film has a lot of good tongue-in-cheek humour, making it a lot funnier than people might first think. As Schwarzenegger said of the film, it's one of the first Hollywood films that portrays a Russian character in a positive light, after earlier films like Red Dawn, Rocky IV and Rambo III, to name a film, to name a few.

Schwarzenegger plays the cop as a heroic character, and that went down really well in the United States. This film is one of the things that signifies the change to the modern world of today with the Russians.

Another good flick, very exciting, two thumbs up!
