Astonishing... A high-flying horror
Both a nightmare and a scream
Well i must admit on first glance the title just screamed low budget direct to video crap(ive seen plenty!)But to my surprise it was highly enjoyable, the characters were fairly likeable although mainly unknown, including a decent supporting performance from movie stalwart Michael Ironside.Rookie director Dave Payne certainly knew how to create tension despite the mainly one shot location, and there were some good jumps in a lot of scenes. The ending is good though i did guess it about 25 mins into the film, its similar to another horror i saw a couple of years ago.Recommended to all horror fans, just dont let the title put you off!!
An interesting film. What seems like a cliche slasher horror turns into something strangely brilliant by the end.
A stupid no-brainer popcorn flick in essence, which the director clearly plays on. The ending is played out fantastically and as a result - definitely worth sitting through. I had no idea what the film was about, which is why it probably made more of an impact.
Anyway, give it a go - and don't let the god-awful title put you off.
Cheap sounding smelly title, probably just another run of the mill slasher, right? Nope, but I hesitated for a loooong time to watch this.
Well, I am happy to report that Reeker in fact is very good, one of the cleverer horror movies- and it is still, if not more, enjoyable second time around. Granted, it relies to an extent on a big twist at the end, but hey, Sixth Sense or Usual Suspects would not have been hailed as great movies without it.
Reeker is by no means big or awesome, but it is entertaining enough, has a few scares and jumps in the right places and some quirky characters that get stalked around a deserted motel by an evil presence trailing rot and decay.
It has the creep factor big time and a toilet scene which will make you think 'Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the bathroom'- and yes, it has the big eye opener (or is that nose opener?) at the end, but even if you saw that coming half way through the film (or read the summary to Reeker 2, which gives the concept away really) this is highly enjoyable, clever horror which is not to be sniffed at.

Its a shame because when the grim reaper does his stuff in last 15-20 minutes the murders are pretty gruesome and good.
Problem is it spent the whole film with mild suspense but nothing much happening.
One or two frightening effects which didn't seem to come together quite right.
Worth a watch if for the last 15-20 minutes, but certainly no memorable film like HILLS HAVE EYES etc.
Twist at end has been done before, and i will not tell you what it is as it will ruin it for you.
nothing much happens, rubbish acting, confusing plot, crap ending, just nothing good about it at all

Ok, firstly, who decided on the title 'Reeker'?! It's distractingly stupid, but once you get past that the film isn't all bad. Nothing original about it whatsoever, but as long as you don't expect anything too amazing you probably won't be disappointed. It's the old classic scenario - group of friends stranded in a isolated location with something horrid lurking in the shadows. The something horrid, as ever, fails to be as scary as you want it to be, and some of the acting is hilariously bad. It's an ok film, not for the devoted film buffs perhaps, but if it's a Friday night and you have wine and pizza, and there's nothing on telly, this film should keep you entertained.
Reeker is a fantastic film! i thought it would be like any other horror flick- a load of teens go off on a trip and unsuspectingly start dying 1 by 1. And it seems to start off that way but the ending delivers much more and an unbelievable twist that i would never of thought of... very clever writing
Go into this film with an open mind and you won't be dissapointed.
This isn't big budget horror where the blood and gore overrides any potential storyline in fact, in many places, the effects are laughable.
For 90% of this film, my partner and I found this to be very poor and ill conceived until the last 5 minutes wherein the concept comes into it's own.
It's an entertaining Friday night horror but, if you're not a fan of the indie horror genre and prefer all style and no substance, I'd suggest you look elsewhere.
if you mix dead end, jeepers creepers and identity you've got this film. RUBBISH. The writers idea of being original is, him ripping off a bunch of other people. Of course if you like those films (which i don't - well except for identity) you might love this to bits. But if you haven't seen them i'd suggest you watch them instead of this pile of human waste. Ok pile of human waste is a bit strong, but it's still rubbish :)
I was sorely disappointed with this film. It promised so much, yet delivered so little. In fact, I think it took away a little part of my soul.
The 'twist' is predictable - even with the red-herring beginning (which was really incongruous, and not at all resolved) - from about ten minutes into the actual film.
There have been other films that have used that particular plot device better, and I urge people to seek those out first.
The acting was diabolical and the dialogue poorly written, yet the cinematography was of good quality, and the sets were lavish. It seems some decent money got thrown down the pan with this one. Avoid if you

this has to be the most pointless, awful and completely incompetent copy of horror plot lines i have ever seen! not one good part or redeeming feature!! i will never get that 90 minutes of my life back!!!
