OK, so the twist was not so unexpected, but I found the characters believable. The straight guy dumped by his girlfriend ends up in a Gay bar and wakes up in bed with a guy. Did they or didn't they? The question didn't play a major part. The homophobia at work is treated maybe just a little too lightly, but this is reversed towards the end of the film.
The guys are cute and there are a few naked shots, but they aren't gratuitous.
I liked it, and really didn't expect german humour to translate so well. The title, by the way, could have been translated from German as 'Real Men' rather than 'Regular Guys', both would have worked for me. Translation for the subtitles: As always, this is such an ambiguous area, but I think they did rather well.
This film, is a great pic. If you like world cinema, and can appreciate a slightly weird view on gay/hetro slant then this film will work for you.
Not the possibly expected guy meets guy film, in fact the opposite, almost a 'john mclean' meets 'pricilla-queen of the desert' type of plot.
With the german language but english subtitles, its a quick film, easy to watch but watchable more than once.
Nice characters and a well filmed movie.
We liked it.
