Terrible...
By a customer from London, England , 06 Mar 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
Downright terrible audio on this spoils whatever potential the original film had as entertainment. Throughout the entire movie and especially noticable in the first half hour, the rediculous English dubbing comes across as a group of drunken friends doing a fan-dub over the video for a giggle. Silly voices and characters talking long drawn-out sentences without the actors even moving their mouths in certain scenes totally takes you out of the atmosphere the film tries to create.
The film itself isn't too bad aside from the terrible acting and the fact a large portion of it in the middle is black and white footage from what seems like a previous film (I'm guessing the film this movie is supposedly a sequel to), used to tell the story of the terrible Doctor Usher.
The story doesn't really go anywhere. It seems more like they were just trying to cash in on a successful movie from 20 years beforehand, without really having a reason for this sequel to exist. There's only one genuinely creepy and interesting bit in this film, and that's from the black and white 'flashback' footage.- Was this review helpful to you?
