    • Flawed treatment as a modern day black comedy of a Jacobean play that has been a template for many revenge dramas. Where is Takashi Miike when you need him?

      Great Fun!

I know that sounds like an odd title when I'm talking about a post-modern reinvention of a 17th century text, but yeah, this film is fun.

      Sweet revenge

A marvellous production, with everyone on top form. The revenge play is always hard to stage in its original form, as the idea was very much of its period, and ... read more »

      Worth watching

If you enjoy Shakespeare you'll love this. The haunting background music did it for me. Watching it second time round is the best.

      Oh Dear!

Really wanted to like this as I love Eddie Izzard and Christopher Ecclestone, but I'm afraid the pseudo-Shakespeare style is too heavy going for my taste ... read more »

I had to turn it off!

What can I say - I expected more from a film with Christopher Eccleston in it, but this was bad! Looked very amateur like, and was realyl dull.

      Olde English Dialogue

Is really difficult to follow if you are wanting simple enjoyable viewing. I'm sure there is a strong specialist market but for me it was very strange.

      Interesting

This one must be the very definition of off-the-wall (the championship table football? Derek Jacobi's lipstick?) Thomas Middleton's 1607 play is upped... read more »
