Rex the Runt - as good as Family Guy?
By a customer , 08 Jul 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
Rex the runt is a hidden Aardman gem. Sadly the fact it's not suitable for children and that Ardman aren't best known for making animation for grown ups (or at least with grown up themes) Rex the Runt misses out on the audience it deserves.
The comedy has elements of The Young Ones, the Mighty Boosh with a smattering of Douglas Adams, while still retaining that Aardman style. The animation is superb (as you'd expect) and does justice to the excellent voice work. The main cast are superb but the guest stars add class. Phil Jupitas, Graham Norton and Jonathan Ross amongst others are all present which should demonstrate that this is up there with other animated comedy such as Robot Chicken or even dare I say Family Guy.
Well worth a watch but if you stick with the series you will be rewarded with a slick animated sitcom up there with anything else to come out of the UK in the last 10 years.- Was this review helpful to you?
