Placing the action in the context of the 1930's was a master stroke in this reviewers opinion. The adage that all power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely was as true in the middle ages as German in 1933.
A nicely judged perfomance from the cast and excellent cinematography make this a film well worth watching.
