Rio ReviewBy Heat123 (4 reviews) from Banbury , 23 Apr 2011
[Highly rated reviewer]Rio centers around Blu, a Blue Macaw living in Minnesota who spends his time drinking hot chocolate and mashmallows. When a brazilian scientist arrives to his owners house, he is told that only one other of his species remians and they are flown to Rio de Janeiro to repopulate the species.
There was a massive amount of hype to this movie mainly thanks to the annoying orange adverts (and the two main cast members don't even voice the ones in the ad). anyway I wasn't expecting much from the film anyway, just a typical animated film with a stary cast (Anne Hathaway, Jesse Eisenberg, Jamie Foxx and even Rapper Will.i.am). thats one of the problems with animated films nowadays, just have a predictable plot with famous people added with 'jokes for the kids and jokes for the adults'
The reason which makes Rio different to other Dreamworks/Sony/20th century fox animated films is the backdrop of Brazil and the music. I feel that these companys should broaden their range a bit but they are slowly doing so.
Overall, Rio is boring and predictable but is somewhat original in the music and animation departments.

Rio - blue birds in BrazilBy MelissaMarabamma (249 reviews) from South Coast UK , 04 Jan 2012This is an enjoyable carnival romp which lasts an hour and a half. It is beautifully illustrated. The characters are very enjoyable even by a mixed range of ages. Harmless fun for all the family.
Rio - worth a watch.By a customer , 03 Jan 2012Strange yet entertaining film, not sure what I was actually expecting, but it has some good moments in it - all round family film, worth a watch.
RioBy Kela23 (640 reviews) from Wickford, Essex , 03 Jan 2012Always a good excuse to get an animated film if you know small children!! I rented this for the benefit of my two godsons and thought it was brilliant and the boys loved it too - they had a bit of a bop and were very impressed that Will.i.am was one of the voices as they love the Black Eyed Peas!! Good family entertainment that you can't fail to enjoy.
Watch it when it's cold outsideBy a customer , 01 Jan 2012A really good film for everyone young and old, loved the songs and the bright colours. This is a movie to watch on a cold rainy English day.
