Like Webster's Dictionary, we're Morocco-bound,, sing Bob Hope and Bing Crosby in arguably one of the best — and certainly the funniest —- of their zany Road series for Paramount. There's much to cherish here: Dorothy Lamour and Moonlight Becomes You; Anthony Quinn as a villainous Arab; the utterly delectable Dona Drake as a slave girl and, especially the talking camels. These comedies may seem to have dated — and certainly they remain sadly and stubbornly unfashionable — but for sheer inventiveness and innate good humour they're hard to beat. And in these postmodern times, they're simply full of surreal cinematic in-jokes. Not just for 1940s nostalgics. Try it, you may be surprised.
