This collection features ROBOCOP and its two sequels. In Paul Verhoeven's original urban sci-fi Western, Peter Weller stars as Murphy, a good Detroit cop who literally gets shot to pieces while on duty and winds up reborn as a crime-fighting machine--RoboCop. His former partner (Nancy Allen) tries to help RoboCop remember his human past, but his circuitry blocks whatever dim memories remain. Luckily, a chance encounter with one of his killers wakes up the human essence in RoboCop, causing him to rebel against his programming and commence on a one-cyborg mission of vengeance that leads all the way to the top of OCP, the omnipresent corporation that created him.
ROBOCOP 2 is an even darker, more violent sequel to the first film. This time around, in addition to the corporate goons who are busy exploiting the blighted city of Detroit, RoboCop (Weller) must battle a psychotic drug lord who has been transformed into a second robot enforcer. Finally, in ROBOCOP 3, the heroic cyborg (this time played by Robert John Burke) joins an underground guerrilla army of homeless people united against OCP.

I may be bias. This movie had everything I wanted to see in a movie as a teenage kid, still does I suppose. So when I see Robocop through adult eyes I am overcome with a feeling of nostalgia.
As far as Sci-Fi goes it doesnt get any better than this for me. The story is action packed, the violence is cartoon extreme and Robocop is one of the best screen creations in movies.
The overall presentation of the movie has a timeless style that is all its own. The story and action move effortlessly along and are nicely inter-cut with news broadcasts and advertisements which add a refreshing touch of satire and parody to the movie. Everything is overblown and over the top in New Detroit . OCP are corrupt beyond measure, street bad guys are comic book psychotic and the police are apathetic wrecks on the brink of meltdown. The whole city is the epitome of chaos and social breakdown. The characters are all enjoyable and all have some funny tongue and cheek dialogue to deliver. I love this movie. What can I say?
The whole concept of Robocop has always impressed me. I see both 1 & 2 as the same movie. I dont know what happened with 3. That was just a lazy attempt with some great source material. Robocop deserves to breathe again. To be revived seriously like Christopher Nolen is doing with the Batman franchise. I would love to see some new adventures for the Big Man to get into.
A poor sequal to the original Robocop. A new actor plays Robocop in this outing, which, after Peter Weller in the first 2 movies, makes this one a little harder to belive. Also, Robocop sprouts wings this time around, and learns to fly ! Personally, after watching this one, I'd say that it wasn't worth the wait. Sorry
Iron Man rocks. At least that's how it feels in a packed cinema, with the sound cranked up, for long swathes of the night. A kind of Batman-Robocop cross, but with a special interest in the international arms trade, Iron Man may not be as well known as some of the other Marvel superheroes ' he's making his film debut here ' but he's been around for nearly half a century. Stan Lee introduced him in 1963, in the person of inventor-industrialist Tony Stark. Stark fell into the clutches of the... Read more
