    [Highly rated reviewer]

This was a great movie, Adults and children will love this tale of a robot in peril and lots of cracking jokes through out the movie. Robin Williams and Ewan Mcgregor are both great actors and here just their voices make you feel like your watching them in a actual film.

Ok,some relatively humerus bits but if you haven't got kids I wouldn't bother with it. Other animations are much better.

  • Verboseness is alive and well in the head of "bleatinggoat".

What a load of pretentious twaddle some people do come out with - in this case, bleatinggoat. To analyse a cartoon film using the same criteria as one might use when talking about Faust or Laurence Olivier is the height of imagined superiority over the rest of us common people - who want to be entertained by a cartoon. This is a very nice film - for the young and not so young. It didn't warrant the silliness from bleatinggoat, so I'd advise anyone to watch it for what it's worth - and that is pure entertainment. Recommended. (getting the right 'Mel' might have enhanced your credibility, although not by much)

Essentially a film about the importance of individuality in the struggle against global corporate homogeny and the titanic struggle of good ol' boy values Vs evil and greed, so far so American, whatever.

A clever and funny film that, despite the usual shtick of the premise, contains lots of fun and originality. My six year old and I found the rather graphic portrayal of hell somewhat concerning, especially at bed time. Substituting humans with robots doesn't really solve the problem of selling a children's film that contains thousands of decapitated limbs, Lucifer herself and a fiery & frightening underworld. This vision was keeping said child awake until I told her that if a film has the old godfearin teetotaler himself, Mel Gibson, in it then so it has to contain a good dollop of visceral fear. She nodded, sleeplily, in silent acknowledgement of the silliness of the world.
