    [Highly rated reviewer]

    Hi,

I have been a huge fan of Guitar Hero since the originals of the PS2. I love every game so far, apart from the 80's spin off which I was a little disappointed with!

Anyways, I decided to try Rock band to see what that was like. I think it has been made with the people who made the original GH's, as GH got bought out when it got popular (although not sure on that!)

Rock Bands graphics are really good. I especially like it when it switches to black & white. Looks like you are watching a real gig on the telly, even without it in HD! It has some great tracks on it too. Learn to Fly by Foo's, When You Were Young by Killers to name but a few!!

I have realised that GH World Tour has pinched more than just being able to play the drums etc from this game now!! The ability to still gather star power as you are already playing with it is a big plus point of GH WT compared to previous games, but it has blantantly stolen it from Rock Band, along with the now being able to alter your rocker in much more detail (ie Tattoo's etc etc)

I was thinking of buying this game so rented it to make sure & I can say that I will definitely be purchasing this game!!

    ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!

I have owned Rock Band 2 now for quite a while and have only recently thought my way around a nice money saving little trick.

Anyone who owns Rock Band 2 ... rent this game then buy the Rock Band Export License Key for PSN Store for £2.44 and you will be able to export all the songs (with the exception of 3) and be able to use them in Rock Band 2 anytime you wish. they even build into their own challenges and are included in World Tour!

  • Not as Good as Guitar Hero

Fairly good, but if I had a choice I would pick Guitar Hero over this. Doesn't run as smoothly and the colours are a bit dull compared to GH.

As for the person that said you need a mic to play..?? I don't know where he got that idea from as you don't. Just a guitar is fine. Also so you know... I have used both a guitar from Guitar Hero: Legends of Rock and from Guitar Hero World Tour and both work :) (apart from the touch sensitive part, which isn't that important)

I really wanted to play rock band i have the guitar for it but you need a mic to play the game so unless you have singstar or guitar hero's world tour set then there is no point renting this game

  • Got US Version - sublime game

    Rated - 4.0 stars

This game is brilliant. Enough said.

Being able to play with your mates in your own band, doing gigs all over the world with a set list to die for (plus lots of good, and some, rubbish downloadable songs from the US store) makes this one of THE most fun games Ive played ever.

I should imagine the Lovefilm version will be the game only once it is released and the real beauty of this game are the instruments. Drums, guitar and Mic are all included in the special edition. The guitar I quite like when compared to GH3 as it is less clicky on the strum. Whilst that is a positive for me, its also a negative as it feels like it might break at any moment! The mic seems to be of a good build quality and sensitive enough etc. but where its at, what Rock Band is all about, is the drums. Oh my. The Drums. I kid you not that if you can master the drums on a hard/expert level then you ought to go and buy a set and join a real band. Drumming is one of the best things to do in this game and well worth the game itself - my only reservation (hence the 4 star rating) is that you will probably need to mod the drums with some felt or gum rubber (both mods available on the internet) as they are a LITTLE bit clacky.

Other than that a MUST BUY if you like this type of game!
