The journey was inspiring & the kids rock!
By Angel from UK , 11 Nov 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
This series was fun, lively, tongue-in-cheek, but most brilliantly of all it captured the conflicts, pressures, self-empowerments, rebellions & euphoria of adolescence and of people striving (& succeeding) to fulfill their dreams. Fifty-something 'Kiss' Rock Star Gene learned as much from his teenage students, as the students learned from him. This was great fun & inspiring to watch!- Was this review helpful to you?

By a customer from UK , 23 Jun 2008I loved the first series of Rock School! If you liked the School Of Rock with Jack Black, you'll love this. I was totally hooked on this series when it was on tv. Gene Simmons brings Rock School to life. The public boarding school kids are so innocent and because of this are so funny. Gene aims to turn them into little rock gods and this makes addictive watching. Turns out Gene is a natural when it comes to teaching....
A MUST SEE SERIES!!- Was this review helpful to you?

Rock Goes to Posh School
By a customer from Milton Keynes , 02 Apr 2007I watched this in the first place for novelty value, but I really really enjoyed it. Gene Simmons has always come across as arogant and money grabbing and yes whilst he probably is both of those things, he seemed to genuinely care about the kids he was working with, so much so that he took them to his LA home. He created a bunch of disparate, but talented, young people into a rock band, who eventually played support for Motorhead. There was something very endearing about both Gene Simmons and the young people. This DVD was a lot of fun and an enjoyable reality TV show, and there are few of them. Great for the Kiss fans and those not familiar with Gene Simmons it is a worthy introduction. I am looking forward to the second series.- Was this review helpful to you?

For those about to rock we salut you!!!
By SCREENCRAZ from EAST KENT , 04 Nov 2005A funny series where Gene is forced to make a group of Private school student learn the true meaning of rock and roll,
It will make you laugh if you know anything about rock, as the students are musical geniuses, yet don't know how to play a guitar.
Not bad but some bits are boring, and the band is pretty bad.
I advise you to rent this out if you want to laugh at people who know nothing about rock 'n' roll- Was this review helpful to you?
