Unfortunately, the critical scathing that this movie got was well deserved. A fan of the original, I got this out simply from curiosity. It's not a terrible film in its own right - ok for the ADHD generation - but is more about flash than substance. The one-star rating is for making people think that the original must have been worse. I hate it when great films are re-made into stinkers. Leave them alone!! Do a sequel by all means, but just don't mess with something if it worked the first time around.

Skip this one and see the original.

I thought this might be one of those movies that didn't really deserve the kicking the critics gave it upon it's release. But I was wrong, it really did deserve it !!! It really is one to avoid.

the only good thing about this whole film was the 5 second appearance of the band Slipknot.

the film was boring, and just a terrible remake of a classic.

  • Tedious - nowhere like the first one

We sat down with high hopes. We enjoyed the previous version (25 years ago plus). This was god awful. It was like a mix between WWF and Batman, with lots of techno music screaming out. No character development, barely any plot, and not even any gore worth mentioning. The first version was a whole lot better. This was just rubbish. Honestly, just imagine WWF wrestling and a waste of 90 mins of your life. Go out and watch the dog dig a hole or something, it is better.

  • Another Pointless Remake

    Rated - 1.5 stars
By Brass (12 reviews) from Grays , 01 Jul 2010
The original is by no means a classic, however the producers of this remake seem to have had the plot and concepts of the original read down a very bad telephone line to them by someone who didn't have english as their first language.

We are left with another very average action movie... Which is shocking considering its directed by the man who gave us the first Die Hard.
