Unfortunately the admirably rapid style does not suit the verse, and long before the much-deferred end the thing becomes just as tiresome as the other versions.

Probably the best screen version of Shakespeare's tragic love story.
Fellini's film boasts lush cinematography and fine performances from all the cast, particularly the two leads and Olivia Hussey is probably the most beautiful Juliet to ever grace the screen.
Forget Baz Luhrmann's OTT inferior remake. This is the one to watch.
Even though this film was made over thirty years ago it still seems very fresh. What fantastic acting! I think the pace and realism are superb and I think it's a must see version of this shakespearian story.
