A real piece of crap...

No other way to describe this film really, other than the title. People wanted to watch it because it was one of THOSE films, like Natural Born Killers and A Clockwork Orange, with a reputation preceding it, and like those two (in my opinion, I realise A Clockwork Orange is widely regarded as a work of genius, but I think it is garbage), this film too suffers as a result. I didn't feel any sympathy at all for any of the characters. It doesn't really offer any real insight into the racist problems that affected parts of New Zealand and Australia, and still do to this day, and it almost completely abandons the fact these characters are a bunch of racist thugs after about 30 minutes, and turns into some interminable dirge about the destructive capabilities of humanity when cornered and vunerable. Throw in a love triangle, a 'misunderstanding', and thats your lot.
Rubbish. Don't bother.
