Ronin are a group of five mercenaries who hire their expert skills out to the highest bidder - Sam (Robert De Niro) is an ex-CIA man, Vincent (Jean Reno) a French operative, Spence (Sean Bean) a weapons expert, Gregor (Stellan Skarsgard) an ex-KGB electronics wizard and Larry (Skip Sudduth) a driver. Contacted via Irish revolutionary Deirdre (Natascha McElhone) by an unseen employer, the group are hired to steal a well-guarded briefcase. The mission succeeds, but divisions within the team soon result in treachery and betrayal.

Twists and turns - not only the cars!

Excellent film, I always reckon that DeNiro never makes a bad film.

Absorbing plot, incredible car chases, characters really come to life.

Great film.

Utter Rubbish

Was drawn to this because of De Niro's name but wished I hadn't bothered - long, long, long car cashes (didn't these go out with Bullit!) and a totally unlikely and incomprehensible story line - not sure I understand it even now - spend time washing your hair, it's more fun.

seat of pants movie

exciting or what! Brilliant hunky cast, story, lo-o-o-o-vely scenery! The car chases were excellent, a bit too long, OTT, needed a bit of editing there. Good though.

Instantly forgettable

I'm in a serious minority here, but I thought everything about this film was pure excrement; a back-of-an-envelope plot, two-dimensional characters and awful, awful acting, but at least Natascha McElhone's 'Oyrish ark-zent' adds unintentional humour to this otherwise joyless experience.
