Rory at his peak
This is taken from German TV, which means that a couple of songs are stupidly interrupted by the (hilarious looking) RockPalast presenters. However, the performances are outstanding. The 2nd gig is particularly great, with Rory in both fantastic playing form and excellent mood, jumping all over the stage and playing superbly imaginative solos. The 3rd gig is a jam session featuring a totally drunk guest singer and is less compelling. This DVD is the best record I have seen of Rory Gallagher's live performance. Better than Irish Tour 74 (annoying editing) and Live in Dublin. Technically you need to remember it's the almost 30 years ago. There's occasional picture interference as the TV cameras react to the loudspeakers. Doesn't really matter though. I only ever saw Rory Gallagher live in concert 4 months before he died. He was not on good form, and I would much prefer to remember him as he is in the '77 gig on this DVD.

Great to see Rory again
three concerts, lots of material here, excellent stuff from the man and he was a guitar god, only shame was quality of visuals...bit dated...also his continuous tuning of guitars, but those were the days i suppose!!
