This is an ok rom-comish girly film. I saw this and 'The Family Stone' at around the same time and I thought the later much better. But Kevin and Jennifer are good and it wasnt boring.. so a solid 3 stars

If you've ever seen a film starring Jennifer Aniston, you'll know what to expect! Enjoyable relaxed rom-com in which Shirley Maclaine steals every scene she's in!

This film is rubbish and the story line is pointless, it is literally a waste of time. Do not recommend.

A new and extension of the story of the film The Graduate.

Very well done and superb acting, Shirley McLaine at her very best.

So there's this woman. She finds out that there are some hidden secrets in her family which leads her to Kevin Costner. They have sex. Oh yeah...he might be her dad. WHAT?!?!

If the second half of this film was an uncomfortable look at father/daughter relationships, it might have warranted 2 stars...but no. It's a rom-com about incest. Aniston does have lovely hair though.

Who actually wouldn't want an affair with Kevin Costner?

Sadly this initially light rom-com ends up being a tedious piece of propaganda for 'middle' American marriage and the art of 'towing the line', 'Dally if you must but once the shackles are on its garden parties and the country club with a big botox enhanced smile'

Underneath what seems to be a cute finding yourself drama (can hair get an oscar? - i'm pretty sure Anniston's should) is a message of marry the one you can tolerate and not the one you're crazy about. Did marrying or dare I say it coupling because you were passionate about someone become unfashionable? - are we back in the 50s marrying for the stability of the country? Boring, dependable men - this is going to be bounty season if this is the case...

I rarely shout at the tv but this time I was baying for a long term Costner/ Anniston union.

    Boo and hiss.
