This is an ok rom-comish girly film. I saw this and 'The Family Stone' at around the same time and I thought the later much better. But Kevin and Jennifer are good and it wasnt boring.. so a solid 3 stars
Although I would not buy this movie, I would probably watch it if it was on TV. It's the story of a girl (Aniston) who has accepted a proposal from her boyfriend, but is not sure that she's doing the right thing. She goes home with her fiance for her sister's wedding, and is left feeling that she doesn't fit in with her family. On hearing of her mother's affair with an old school boyfriend, she wonders if he's her real father. She meets up with the man (Costner) and things progress from there. Shirley Maclean is very funny and Kevin Costner is ageing well and is still as likeable as he always was. There are some very funny parts in this movie, and the actors do a good enough job with the lightweight script. Jennifer Aniston is pretty much like Rachel from Friends in this, and plays the 'I'm not sure what I want from life' role well. This is probably mainly a 'chick flick' (I hate that term!!) but male Aniston fans will also enjoy it!
