Julia Roberts, Richard Gere and their Pretty Woman director Garry Marshall reunite for this predictable but well-played romantic comedy. Roberts stars as the small-town girl who has left three heartbroken men at the altar, while Gere plays the cynical columnist who's keen to see if she will actually go through with it on her fourth attempt. Of course, you'll have worked out the ending before you reach the last line of this review. However, thanks to Roberts's deft comedic touch, a zippy script and some nice support from Marshall stalwart Hector Elizondo and the always reliable Joan Cusack, this is a sweet romance that will warm the cockles of wedding fanatics everywhere. Marriage phobics, however, should steer clear — they may well be converted.
