    [Highly rated reviewer]

A poor reuniting between Richard Gere and Julia Roberts. A reporter (Gere) goes to a small town to report on a woman who runs on her wedding day leaving the husband to be at the alter. Can this reporter tame her or will she just keep on running.

  • Ok but a bit weak.

As a rainy Sunday film it reaches 3 stars but it was quite a weak film. Worth a watch if you have nothing else to watch & fancy something easy. The fact that Julia Roberts is in it was its saving grace!

Was enjoyable enough though & sweet storyline just weak. It has the hotel manager from Pretty Woman who has some great one liners though!

  • Never mind Runaway Bride, just plain runaway.

I litterally struggled to stay awake through this one. It was a pointlessly boring story that moved at a snail's pace and led to an obvious conclusion.

Sadly this was not one of Julia Robert's best films. In fact I would say that this is probably the worst one. Although I am a Robert's fan I deffinately would not recommend this movie.

  • Yawny yawn

Below par. The decision to put Roberts and Gere together again was clearly as a commercial cash cow. The characters are annoying, and ultimately I didn't care.

  • More depth than expected

Sure the ending is predictable. So many rom coms are. But the question is, does it bring any new depth or issue to light? Rom coms are of course always about relationships. And in this case the story researches the problem finding ourselves in a thorough refreshing way.

Also the chemistry between the two main characters is great, the camera is great, beautiful images, the story flows well. A very lovable movie, what more could one want?

If we see movies not so much as the perfectly fast pace written stories that are here only for our entertainment, but see them as actual works of art as well, then the question is - do we find ourselves in the story, the poem, the picture, the movie? Did it touch us in any way, could we relate to it?

I am sure that many women could relate to this movie. And that is what makes it valuable.

  • A Nice Fun Film.

With class actors like Julia Roberts & Richard Gere this film could not fail. Having said that the best I could rate the plot and acting in this offering was 'Nice'. The story as it unfolds hides nothing, the realism of it is a little stretched as most of this genre tend to be. A comfortable watch & some fun moments keep the veiwer interested, without the likes of Roberts & Gere it could fall into the 'boring' category.
