A down-and-out big-city reporter (Richard Gere), in a last-ditch effort to save his tarnished career, chases a scoop on a mercurial, small-town girl (Julia Roberts) known as the Runaway Bride, due to her habit of leaving her grooms-to-be on the alter. Director Marshall once again directs the stars who made his PRETTY WOMAN a .. Read more

Julia Roberts, Richard Gere and their Pretty Woman director Garry Marshall reunite for this predictable but well-played romantic comedy. Roberts stars as the small-town girl who has left three heartbroken men at the altar, while Gere plays the cynical columnist who's keen to see if she will actually go through with it on her fourth attempt. Of course, you'll have worked out the ending before you reach the last line of this review. However, thanks to Roberts's deft comedic touch, a zippy script and some nice support from Marshall stalwart Hector Elizondo and the always reliable Joan Cusack, this is a sweet romance that will warm the cockles of wedding fanatics everywhere. Marriage phobics, however, should steer clear — they may well be converted.

A romantic comedy in search of a better script; this one manages to make both of its protagonists unsympathetic.
A poor reuniting between Richard Gere and Julia Roberts. A reporter (Gere) goes to a small town to report on a woman who runs on her wedding day leaving the husband to be at the alter. Can this reporter tame her or will she just keep on running.
Predictable but fun. I enjoyed this flm.
When I first started watching this film, I thought I was heading for a 'Pretty Woman' night; I was so wrong. It's certainly nothing like that at all - but it's not totally bad, either. One particular scene in the film is a direct lift out of 'Pretty Woman' when Maggie goes into a shop to buy her wedding dress and is told by the owner to buy a more cheaper one. Of course, this doesn't matter, but it's fun to spot things like that. All in all, the film could be better in all respects, though Julia Roberts is top notch as always. Watch it only if you are a fan.
Predictable but fun. I enjoyed this flm.
This film is easy on the eye and basically feelgood. Both Roberts and Gere handle their parts with smooth professionalism. There are no great demands made on the viewer, and the harmless inevitable build up to the climax at the end is routine and fairly obvious. It makes no difference, the film is fun and its simplicity makes it a pleasure to watch.

We all loved pretty woman and it was a huge success. The key elements were an excellent script and some brilliant casting. So it is hardly a suprise that we have to endure what is basically an uninspiring churn-out of a sequel. The reason I say this is because the cast is back but the excellent script and brilliant casting isn't. That's right, the whole lot of 'em are back in just about the most insipid over-dose of chick flick you are likely to find in a single film. The effect is dull/nauseating with a little bit of 'I've clearly been ripped off here' thrown in. Oh well. The thing is, that you sort of know this from the start. When you see the title, the cast and perhaps a trailer, you know you are seeing a cash-in and, well, thats what you get. If you loved Pretty woman and really don't mind you intellegence being insulted for a chance to see the whole 'crazy gang' back in action, complete with Roberts and Gere flirting, then so be it. But if you are a) a guy (this is not a generalisation) or b) are indifferent from the off (my girlfriend was very unimpressed) then my advice is to steer clear. And I'm usually so positive - yikes!
Good amusing movie,Julia Roberts is a talented lady.Thought i would be dissapointed but i was wrong. Not a follow up at all.
very enjoyable film, not to the standards of pretty woman but it was only the same stars not a sequel.
fails to convince that anyone would run away from marrying richard gere. a must for his fans
predictable trying to ride in the slip stream of previous sucesses 'pretty woman'
excellent film worth watching
