A good movie - guilty as charged
By KEITH KING from Eastbourne , 21 Jun 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
I loved this film. Full of suspense and intrigue.
At the start I thought I was going to be confused, but once the viewer has settled down and takes note of the proceedings then the fun begins.
This film is a must for anyone who loves courtroom dramas, and don't forget you have the added bonus of Dustin Hoffman and Gene Hackman.- Was this review helpful to you?

(716)A great thriller
By Bobsview (549 reviews) from Gloucestershire , 04 Mar 2013Gene Hackman, Rachel Weisz, dustin Hoffman. Excellent drama about attempts to control a jury and influence the outcome. Many twists and turns. Tackles the morality of manufacturing guns. Would be a 9 except that the plot whilst being thoroughly entertaining is in reality quite contrived to the point of stretching credibility.- Was this review helpful to you?

More than the normal courtroom drama
By wrightfilm (14 reviews) from Somerset , 27 Aug 2010This is a very well executed drama, with a very strong cast of real actors doing what they do best.
The story starts by looking like just another court room based conflict between the david and goliath style prosecutor and defensive team but ends up delivering much more than this. The s sub plots develope creating a very well crafted whole by the end of the movie which leaves you guessing who is playing with who right up to the last.
I highly recommend this for a good night in.- Was this review helpful to you?

By RussnEmma (387 reviews) from London, England , 08 May 2010There are so many Courtroom dramas that most of them start to be too samey.
This movie has a good twist to it and i enjoyed the fact that you can never quite guess who its going to end.
Very good performances from John Cusack, Gene Hackman, Dustin Hoffman & Rachel Weisz.
Certainly one to watch!- Was this review helpful to you?

Top Notch Thriller
By GaryI (785 reviews) from March, Cambs , 28 Nov 2009This is one of those thrillers that is top notch, great cast, great story, twists & turns - it's just downright entertaining. You can't beat Hackman & Hoffman together, and if you add John Cusack & Rachel Weisz you have a winning formula. Set in New Orleans a jury has to deliberate over a gun control case but has the jury been tampered with. Highly recommended.- Was this review helpful to you?
