"...Great....The start of a beautiful friendship and a rewarding Hollywood franchise between [Tucker and Chan]..." -- Rating: B+
"...[A] kick-happy buddy film....[Chan] makes a doleful expression and comedic physical grace take the place of small talk..."
Ok, first off the person who said this is DULL in the review list - STAY OFF THE DRUGS!!
Totally funny film, this may not appeal to all, but this is an American production, 2 high quality actors in their own rights, Jackie Chan (Kung Fu) & Chris Tucker (American Comic) partner up in what is an unlikely combination which works well, the fact that Jackie Chan's english isn't that brilliant along with on occasion a confused Tucker's look as if to say 'what did you say' is a treat. Lots of one liners, its about a Hong Kong Diplomat in USA who owns a priceless collection of valuable artifacts, his daughter gets kidnapped and ransom wanted for her return, As he worked with 'Chan' in Hong Kong, he asks for him personally to come to the States, where the FBI do not want his intervention as they feel they can handle it and this is where LA Cop 'Tucker' enters the fray, messing up in his division, he is more than given away by his boss to the FBI only to be more of a Butler in keeping 'Chan' away from the Hong Kong Diplomat, the fun just only begins..... 5 star all the way.... and GO RENT PART 2, Hilarious ALSO!!
One of the best action thriller i have seen and it was verry funny. Great acting buy all the cast and that is why i give it a 5stsr rating. I would recomend this film to anybody.
I can just about understand what the French see in Jerry Lewis, why the Americans embraced Roberto Benigni in Life Is Beautiful, and how some people believe Lee Evans is a comedy genius. But Chris Tucker I just don't get. Least, not as Detective James Carter in the Rush Hour films, which is the only role he's played in the last decade. (I seem to remember I enjoyed seeing him get shot in the trunk in Jackie Brown.) They paid him $25 million to reprise this role for second time, so it's obvious Read more
