Failure MoonBy a customer from The Best of the West Country , 31 Oct 2006
[Highly rated reviewer]I may well be outside the target audience, specifically where age is concerned, but rented this to get a wider-ranging feel of animé. Plus Sailor Moon is a title that I've heard mentioned so many times, yet had zero knowledge of. Sadly, like Pokemon, this disappoints. Worse still, the viewer is patronised with moralistic reminders at the end of each episode - though I base this belief having only watched episode one, the choices of voice actors for the English Dubbing was unbearable and there was no option for the original language w/subtitles. Definitely had no intention of continuing the torture. Avoid - this makes sitting through pokemom seem positively bearable. I returned this dvd on the same day it arrived.

Dubbed not so good.By Kiraal (1 review) , 01 May 2013Anyone wanting to watch Sailor Moon should REALLY watch the Japanese version with English subtitles. There are some episodes that weren't ever dubbed so you're missing out by watching these! I absolutely LOVE Sailor Moon and personally much prefer the Japanese sound version. They aren't different in terms of what happens, but the voices really change the personalities of the characters. And there isn't the moral learning snippets at the end, I found these annoying. However I have to say that I watched the Japanese sound version first, so someone who saw the dubbed version originally may disagree. I would give Sailor Moon 5 stars, but as this is the dubbed edition it is 3 due to annoying voices and missed out episodes.
I VoteSailor Moon Politic!By uskyrt (2 reviews) from Ryton , 18 Jan 2013Who is going to approach this anime series must know that it's not for homophobics, since it touches topics like homosexuality and an abstraction of hermaphroditism; It even isn't for the sexists, because of its matriarchy structure on beneath and neither is for racists that could find disappointing how kindly are accepted the ex-enemies after stopping their expansionist aims and their violence. This Anime is very politic even if it doesn't seem so and I would show it to any child who is starting its pubertal phase to lower its phobias working on its subconscious. I hope that in this version, the censorship didn't rape this anime till killing all those topics inside of it!
Great anime - awfuly cut and dubbedBy a customer from Oxford , 04 Jun 2009I loved this anime when I was a kid and I wanted to rekindle fond memories - but was disappointed as the English dubbing is positively cringing! (I'm used to the French dubbing which is much better done) And the 'Sailor says' bits are the worst thing I've ever seen. I so wish I could get those in the uncut original version...
