SAIYUKI RELOAD is a sequel to the popular anime series SAIYUKI. A blend of action, fantasy, and comedy that is based partly on a 16th-century Chinese folktale and partly on a modern-day Japanese manga, the SAIYUKI franchise follows Buddhist monk Sanzo on his sacred mission to destroy demons across the land of Shangri-la. Sanzo is joined on his quest by three misfits, each with his own particular skills: the half-demon Goku, the magic-wielding Hakkai, and the lucky gambler Gojyo. In this second volume of episodes, the heroes arrive at a new village only to be duped by a particularly clever and powerful demon who seeks to sow discord in the group.
