Kenshin and the gang make the transition to the big screen in this aptly titled feature film that takes place somewhere within the time line of the TV series. Because the TV series was of such great quality and had such a rabid following, expectations were high for the film, and it does not disappoint. In it, Kenshin and the .. Read more

    Poor

I had quite enjoyed the series up till now. Animation was nowhere near as good as the previous two.

I hope volume 4 gets better than this.

Deserves to be called a movie

Vol3 is an excellent continuation of the samurai-x series. In this volume we get to meet 'bathuside's' new friends. We also get to see that kenshin now uses a reverse edge sword and the reason for this change.

If you wanna understand the whole story then u should see previous volumes and also the animation series which develops after the movie.

Some may find this movie a bit boring but once u get into the whole story of the japan's past it gets really interesting.

    I recommend it very highly.

    Awful!

This is so poor, compared to the first 2 volumes. They turned the whole series into some kiddie anime!

Characters have suddenly popped into this volume without any introduction!

Do not bother with this one.

    a major disappointment

Nothing like the first two volumes and and predictable story line. Hopefully volume 4 will be back to the old style.. this movies charactors were drawn more in the style of pokemon the movie.

    Not like the other three

If you liked the other Samurai X's that doesnt mean you'll like this one, as it is more like the TV series than the other three volumes. It doesnt actually continue the story of the others either, its more like an extra TV episode with a seperate side story linked to the others. Its still a brilliant watch though and i recomend it to anyone who liked the TV series or the characters from Samurai X.

    Rubbish

The first 2 cds where amazing the anime art was owesome and the colouring exelant Kenshin is just well the perfect gentleman isnt he...in this well all that just gets thrown out the window the colour is completly well ouch hurts your eyes watching it its so bright. i dont understand why they changed so much about it...its the dark passona i like about kenshin and in this hes just to nice! its wierd...

any ways if you like the first 2 disks in the series dont watch this it spoils everything...its like its not even samurai X its like a whole new thing....

    Disappointing

Jumping away from the series of OVAs this is effectively a filler arc from the series converted into a film. Unfortunately it also feels like a filler arc and is hardly compelling. I also felt some grave mistakes were made, such as animating kenshin the wander in the manner that was traditionally used for the battousai.

    Just for the die-hard fans.

Vol 3 certainly seems to be lacking something previous Samurai X volumes possessed. I'm not sure if its the look or a different style of writing due to the 12 rating but this defintely suffers in comparison, having said that though the backdrops are still stunning and the fights very well drawn which leaves it superior to most of the Manga out there.
