(3)Thumbs down.
By a customer , 23 May 2011Watched the first season and had high hopes for the second season. Unfortunately this was a mistake on my part. I can't sit and watch something that has little or no story to it, the main characters are poorly contrived to point of which I don't care if they survive to to the next episode. With this in mind gave up on it after the 6th episode.- Was this review helpful to you?

Oh Dear...Guilty Pleasure time!
By swukker (35 reviews) from Crediton , 22 Mar 2011I am not sure why I am watching these programmes.
The actual stories and underlying story arc are not that brilliantly thoiught out or realised, Too many stories are little more than vanity pieces, little more than footnotes to the series as a whole, to show the Magnus character (as played by one of the executive producers) in a too good a light. But, sadly for all concerned, they also show Amanda Topping's acting limitatrions as well.
The acting is at best adequate and often risible.
The prosthetics are very much old style Doctor Who standard.
The largely CGIed sets make the whole experience strangely uninvolving, possibly because the actors are not capable of acting in such a setting with much believability.
But, I have still sat through two seasons, so they must be doing something right!- Was this review helpful to you?
