Leslie Nielsen clearly enjoyed playing Santa Claus in All I Want for Christmas, as he reprises the role with pantomimic brio in this cheerful Disney made-for-TV film. Blown off course by turbulence, he crashes his sleigh into Scrooge-like TV reporter Steven Eckholdt's car. However, it takes young Max Morrow to realise the implications of Santa's amnesia and the race to save the festivities begins. As you'd expect of a Hollywood yule movie, it's awash with sentimentality and the good old capitalist spirit of giving and receiving. But William Dear has too much experience of kidpics to let it descend into mush.
