This was an exceptionally good film, admittedly harrowing in parts, but nonetheless tugged at the heart strings. The dialogue was excellent and believable, and Kristen Scott Thomas gave a performance of totally convincing perfection.- Was this review helpful to you?

Powerful and absolutely magnificent story
By Nhenry (3 reviews) , 12 May 2013The real history of 1942 Paris is told with the most powerful manner: a fantastic fiction, this is a beautiful adaptation of the novel. A film all children, students and parents should see, to never forget the lessons of history. Another great role for Kristin Scott Thomas! Beautifully interwoven stories
By a customer , 06 May 2013I loved the way that Sarah's story was bound up with Julia's search for her. The original French title is Elle s'appelait Sarah (She was called Sarah). I have to admit I cried at that point in the film.- Was this review helpful to you?

a moving film!
By b-movie (101 reviews) from Cardigan , 02 May 2013a film that keeps you watching to work out what is going to happen in the next scene. a writer follows the life story of a Jewish girl in war time in France the pain she went through etc 'this was not my cup of tea' i did not care lot for the ending. the film is only half in english- Was this review helpful to you?
