This was an exceptionally good film, admittedly harrowing in parts, but nonetheless tugged at the heart strings. The dialogue was excellent and believable, and Kristen Scott Thomas gave a performance of totally convincing perfection.

One of the best films we have seen in years, harrowing but very memorable. Should be compulsory viewing for everyone!

The real history of 1942 Paris is told with the most powerful manner: a fantastic fiction, this is a beautiful adaptation of the novel. A film all children, students and parents should see, to never forget the lessons of history. Another great role for Kristin Scott Thomas! Run to rent it you will not regret it even if you cry all the tears of your soul by the end.

I loved the way that Sarah's story was bound up with Julia's search for her. The original French title is Elle s'appelait Sarah (She was called Sarah). I have to admit I cried at that point in the film.

Was in the mood for a good foreign film to watch this evening and was attracted by the ratings. Nice little gem of a movie and definitely worth a watch!
