This was an exceptionally good film, admittedly harrowing in parts, but nonetheless tugged at the heart strings. The dialogue was excellent and believable, and Kristen Scott Thomas gave a performance of totally convincing perfection.- Was this review helpful to you?

Captivating Story
By mcm (16 reviews) from Motherwell , 20 Mar 2013[Highly rated reviewer]
Twisting back and forward this film is wonderful. The characters are well played and the mystery remains to the end. Although it is another terrible story of the Nazi Camps, the strength of the film is in the way it keeps you watching and wondering. Definitely get it.- Was this review helpful to you?

Thought provoking drama
By a customer , 19 Mar 2013A very moving film and difficult to watch in places especially if you have young children. The acting was good, Kristin Scott Thomas is one of my favourite actors, and didn't disappoint.- Was this review helpful to you?

Beautiful and haunting film
By a customer , 18 Mar 2013Kristin Scott Thomas is the journalist who becomes fascinated by what happened to the eponymous Sarah - a child who survived the round-up of French Jews in July 1942. The acting is superb and, of course, the story is harrowing but also uplifting in many ways. I know a number of Holocaust survivors, all of whom have life histories that often sound far fetched but, sadly, are true and this film is just such a history. I strongly recommend this film - not least as a testimony to all those who didn't survive the horrors of the Holocaust and to those who did but can never escape their past.- Was this review helpful to you?
