....Interesting...

It was interesting to watch these scetches etc. but the passage of time has not been kind to the comedy itself. You can sense the fact that SNL was quite ground-breaking, even anarchic television at the time and that warrants a rental in my book.- Was this review helpful to you?

(4)Live from New York it's Saturday Night
By JOKER (85 reviews) from Byfleet , 23 Jun 2012Agree with another viewer that this isn't as edgy as it is now but I think it was still developing with how far it could go. I'm used to the 90's onwards so this isn't going to be my favourite generation but still enjoyable for the cast alone. Strange that some of the sketches are repeated not sure if they were at the time or just for the DVD for example replacement husband and pace maker. Shame they haven't done more recent seasons.- Was this review helpful to you?

Disappointed
By a customer from Ickenham , 14 Jan 2009I love the type of comedy associated with Saturday Night Live, but sadly this lacked the cleverness and edge I was hoping for. It was interesting as a historic curio, for example I was surprised how political it was at times - very 'right on' in a good sixties way. And fans of the featured musicians will enjoy their live sessions. However, I think people looking for laugh-out loud comedy from Chevvy Chase, et al, will be better rewarded elsewhere.- Was this review helpful to you?
