Undoubted Masterpiece.By a customer from Scotland , 14 Apr 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]Saving Private Ryan and E.T were probably the best films of their genre, but you can't measure the impact of this film against those, and to attempt to compare it to A.I. and Catch Me If You Can is simply just crass (sorry!). This film portrays the heart rendering suffering the Jewish populous of Europe had to suffer at the hands of the Nazis. It shows how they were tortured, maimed, abused and exterminated and leaves us wondering about the futility of it all. We can only be left trying to understand the fear and suffering that must have been felt during that time. Although these horrors can never be recaptured for real on film, this film is the next best thing to us as individuals trying somehow to vainly grasp what must have been felt. Think about it!

One of the 100 films to see before you....By lastengland (105 reviews) from Winchester , 01 Aug 2013a must see film...Liam Neeson gives a brilliant performance as Schindler. Amazing person Schindler, as were all the other people like him during that time - he was in a position to try & help & he did!
Moving and PowerfulBy robo1 (1 review) , 31 Jul 2013I don't often watch a film of this genre but it appears in the Top 250 on IMDB and decided to give it a try. The running time of 3 hours looked like it might be an issue....but it certainly wasn't. I sat for the full 3 hours totally transfixed.
There are some very powerful acting performances and the script, screenplay and music is amazing. All in all - I enjoyed this film greatly and would recommend it to all. There is violence and it is intense - but it has to be shown as this is what actually happened......those who don't like this should not watch this film. This would be a shame though as it actually moved me to tears at the end - and any film that can do that has got to be worth a watch in my book.
shocking graphic violenceBy a customer , 27 Jul 2013I was looking forward to seeing this movie, however after 1hour i could take no more of the mindless, graphic shooting of people in face , and seeing their skulls open it was too much ....at this point in the film , there was no redeeming features...i am sure they come ....but you have to watch a lot of murder 1st

Bucket ListBy WongOrWhite (113 reviews) , 22 Jul 2013Brilliant masterpiece...as you would expect from a Holocaust film, harrowing in places but also touching and surprisingly uplifting...also, pretty sure this is the only film that I've liked where Neeson doesn't appear to kill anyone with his bare hands...this is one of those films that you just have to watch at some point in your life...
Worth Watching AgainBy Cato (774 reviews) from Lydbury North , 02 Jul 2013Probably the finest film about the holocaust, with Spielberg wringing superb performances from Neeson, and Fiennes, with Kingsley giving his usual brilliant effort. The ending was rather sentimental, Neeson doesn't do crying very well, but Fienne's sadistic psychopath is the stuff of nightmares.
