    You won't learn anything here...

Napoleon Dynamite was a wierdly odd, off the wall, funny movie. So why on earth did John Heder get tied up in this tosh. Along with BB Thornton, he deserves six of the best from head, because apart from one or two quite funny moments, this is a padded out 'loser' film that has no heart, no real story and is about as interesting as an algebra class (Sorry Miss White - I enjoyed them really)..

Most of us like films where the underdog comes through, but at the end of this you won't care less. I know this might seem over critical, but John Heder deserves better, this isn't it.

I would play truant from this, and give it a miss. Unless you get detention and have nothing else to do, forget it.

    Unspeakable

This needless Jon Heder vehicle is deeply, irreparably dreadful. I wouldn't (nay, couldn't) recommend this utter dross to anyone, even if its director had my testes wedged in a nutcracker. It's crudely plotted, poorly acted, insulting and entirely bereft of real comedy. I honestly can't remember the last time that I saw a Hollywood comedy this devastatingly poor. And that, surely, is saying something.

    Excellent

I really enjoyed Napoleon Dynamite and I was a bit worried that this would be a disappointment. However, I thoroughly enjoyed this film. It was the same sort of gentle comedy as Napoleon Dynamite and was perfect Sunday evening viewing.

    School for Scoundrels

This was an okay film. Not the kind of film I would want to watch at the cinema but pleasant home viewing which did make me laugh. As long as you dont have high expectations then you will enjoy watching.

    A woefully poor re-make

There are some re-makes that are equal to the originals and some even surpass them (such as Dirty Rotten Scoundrels). This however fell into neither category. If you have seen the original starring Terry Thomas, Alastair Sim & Ian Carmichael, I ugre you to steer clear of this version. For anyone who has seen the original, this re-make was dull and lacked the subtle humour of the original. I was mortified to notice that Billy Bob Thornton's character is an amalgamation of Terry Thomas and Alastair Sim's roles, and Ian Carmichael's character had morphed into an emasculated wimp! Furthermore, no one can play the arch cad as well as Terry Thomas; well that's my opinion anyway! The Hollywood gloss tarnished what promised (on the surface) to be a good film. School For Scoundrels is a classic British comedy, and British comedy is, in my opinion, only done best by the British. So ladies and gentlemen, I implore you, if you wish to see this film' please, I beg of you see the original instead. The original will have you crying with laughter and reaching for the tissues. This sadly had me reaching for stop button on the remote control.

    Disappointing

This film had a lot more potential with the stars involved and the theme of the movie, but seemed like it does not know wht it wanted to be. Neither an out and out comedy, or a darker feel to it. Fell flat.

    Watch the original....

If you want a good laugh just watch the original 'School for Scoundrels' with Alistair Sim, Ian Carmichael, Terry Thomas, etc.

Much more entertaining and i remember using a few of the ruses myself... :-)

Much funnier than the reviews suggested.

I wasn't expecting much from this, as it got really bad reviews. However, I thought it was great - easy to watch and really funny.
