Director Sue Heel's debut movie comes across as a sort of distaff version of The Full Monty, as a beautiful Italian woman fetches up in Newcastle upon Tyne and, through her own brand of sex education, tries to help some local ladies put the heat back in their cooling relationships. In her first starring role, former TV presenter Kelly Brook is certainly alluring enough to play a voluptuous bombshell, although her ability to sustain an air of mystery recedes pretty rapidly. On the other hand, supporting players Emily Woof, Dervla Kirwan and, especially, Margi Clarke are exceptionally good as the women who learn how to live through Brook's sensual instruction. Unsurprisingly, Brook's plans go a bit pear-shaped, but at least Heel manages to move matters along to a cosy if sentimental conclusion.
Saw this film whilst in Canada - all of it was predictable, but it has the honey that is Kelly in it, so who cares!! Got way to spend a few hours, it is funny and light hearted!! Enjoy!!
This was better than I thought it would be, but don't watch this movie expecting a marvellous storyline - watch it to enjoy some harmless fun. There are some genuine funny moments in this movie as it centres around Kelly Brook as an 'Italian' teacher who teaches seduction classes to some women in Newcastle. Not bad (and if you are male you'll obviously drool over Kelly) Worth a watch.
It's got Margi Clark in it, so of course it was about gritty Northeners making something beautiful out of their mundane lives. I've been a fan of hers forever, and this movie did nothing to change that.
A real 'feel good' movie, but also a bit of a 'girls' movie I suspect - it is very observational about how women think and about their motivations.
Martin Cloones is particularly brilliant as a car-obsessed husband who never grew up. I won't spoil the ending, but suffice to say, everyone gets what they deserve.
This is a good, funny, light harted british comedy.
there is'nt enough of these if you ask me.
you must watch this movie.
Didnt really expect this film to be very good - but actually i was happily surprised.

This is a look on modern life. All the housewifes have various problems at home and look to the school of seduction to fix them. It makes for some hilarious moments. Its a feel good movie and extremely funny in certain parts. Margie clark and her husband and the guy with with red spider sports car to name a few. Want something you can watch with the girlfriend or the wife to go ahhh in bits rent it / SORTED!!
Hate to resort to the 'not particularly bad but not particularly good either' cliche of film criticism, but this is only a short review.
'School For Seduction's only real major flaw is that it's script is pretty mediocre. It would take a very inept director to coax bad performances from the actresses here, who do as much as they can to inhabit the 2D characters they've been given, the pace is very brisk for a 100 minute film....and yet, you don't really come away from the film with any recollection of the past couple of hours. By no means the rubbish that you're expecting, but it's not going to be a pleasant surprise either.
And, since you're wondering, Ms Brook doesn't even get anywhere near naked, so don't let that sway you. You pervert.
Like watching a car crash unfold before your eyes - almost unwatchable. A poor shadow of an imitation at a "female Full Monty" doesn't start to describe how bad this is. Just sorry that a ranking of zero isn't possible so I'll have to give Kelly Brook one!
Good movie for watching with a group of girly mates and several bottles of wine. Enough laughs to enjoy watching with your bloke too, plus there's even a moral to the story so it gets my vote as worth watching:-)
Film not up to much, slow and boring. We only watched about fifteen minutes of the film and when we woke up put a good film on.
This is such a cliche film with relation problems and moral lessons out of it, read a book when you watch it or something.
Ok, Kelly is a good looking girl, but thats where the good review ends.
Ms Brook can't act or do accents to save her life and the other actresses were even worse.
Absolutely dreadful movie, i ended up skipping through the next hour looking for bikini scenes - There arn't any of those either :/
